THis is an 8 connector wall plate, sufficient for 4 speakers or 2 stereo pairs. These are set up so that you can plug in cables terminated with banana plugs or clamp them directly to the bare wire. We recommend clamping them directly to the bare speaker wire. Binding post connectors have an advantage over spring or plug type because they can clamp directly to the speaker wire. This prevente the speaker wires from pulling out easily as do the spring, banana or rca plug types. When the wires pull out inadvertantly with sound playing it can damage your amplifier(s). These have color coded plastic bases under the gold plated binding post and a color coated rubber ring around each individual binding post. They are gold plated to prevent oxidation which harms the delicate audio signals passing through them.
